# Read4Me vs mxTip

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: mxTip at none against Read4Me's 5. mxTip also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). Read4Me's advantage is ratings volume (5.3K vs 3) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 5 months). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Read4Me sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per 7 days. mxTip asks for nothing beyond the download.

mxTip holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Read4Me has 5.3K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Read4Me ships an update every 6 weeks, mxTip every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
