# Russian Readers vs Learn Neapolitan

The clearest difference is rating: Russian Readers at 4.7 against Learn Neapolitan's 4.0. Russian Readers also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (587 vs 2). Learn Neapolitan's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Russian Readers sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and Learn Neapolitan sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Russian Readers holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Russian Readers has 587 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Russian Readers's written reviews are positive against 100% of Learn Neapolitan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Russian Readers ships an update every 3 months, Learn Neapolitan every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
