# Patternum vs Engagement Ring Designer

The clearest difference is rating: Patternum at 3.4 against Engagement Ring Designer's 1.0. Patternum also leads on ratings volume (25 vs 2). Engagement Ring Designer's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 55%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Patternum holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Patternum has 25 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Patternum's written reviews are positive against 80% of Engagement Ring Designer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Patternum ships an update every 6 months, Engagement Ring Designer every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
