# Area Converter vs Widgetik

The clearest difference is ads: Area Converter at none against Widgetik's shown. Area Converter also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). Widgetik's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 33 months) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Area Converter sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Widgetik sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Area Converter holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 18 and 67 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Area Converter's written reviews are positive against 80% of Widgetik's.

Area Converter ships an update every 33 months, Widgetik every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
