# Picks vs Pilot Radio

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pilot Radio at none against Picks's 4. Pilot Radio also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 weeks). Picks's advantage is ratings volume (34 vs 5). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Picks sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Pilot Radio asks for nothing beyond the download.

Pilot Radio holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Picks has 34 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Picks ships an update every 6 weeks, Pilot Radio every 10 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
