# Sobriety Counter vs Sober Man

The clearest difference is price: Sober Man at Free against Sobriety Counter's $4.99. Sober Man also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 73%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months). Sobriety Counter's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.3) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Sober Man is free to download; Sobriety Counter costs $4.99 up front. Sober Man sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Sobriety Counter asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sobriety Counter holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sobriety Counter has 569 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Sobriety Counter's written reviews are positive against 100% of Sober Man's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
