# MD Clock vs Lucky Widgets

The clearest difference is monetization model: Lucky Widgets at free with in-app purchases against MD Clock's subscription. Lucky Widgets also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). MD Clock's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (6.6K vs 2). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MD Clock sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Lucky Widgets sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lucky Widgets holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MD Clock has 6.6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MD Clock ships an update every 9 days, Lucky Widgets every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
