# Scanner vs Scan Now

Scanner and Scan Now both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 60% of Scan Now's written reviews are positive against 49% of Scanner's. Scan Now also leads on chart position (#56 vs #188). Scanner's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 2K) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scanner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Scan Now sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.95 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Scanner against 4.8 for Scan Now. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scanner has 11K ratings behind it against 2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 49% of Scanner's written reviews are positive against 60% of Scan Now's.
