# NextGam vs MyBacklog

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MyBacklog at 40% against NextGam's 0%. NextGam's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.6) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NextGam sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month and MyBacklog sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NextGam holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of NextGam's written reviews are positive against 40% of MyBacklog's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NextGam ships an update monthly, MyBacklog every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
