# VPN Guru vs Project

The clearest difference is update cadence: VPN Guru at weekly against Project's every 2 months. VPN Guru also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 83%). Project's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.7). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN Guru sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Project sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Project holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of VPN Guru's written reviews are positive against 83% of Project's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VPN Guru ships an update weekly, Project every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
