# Notecap vs Jotdown

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: Notecap at 13.0 against Jotdown's 18. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notecap sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Jotdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notecap ships an update every 5 days, Jotdown weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
