# High Octane! vs Flipping Legend Halfbrick+

The clearest difference is monetization model: High Octane! at free with in-app purchases against Flipping Legend Halfbrick+'s subscription. High Octane! also leads on rating (4.3 vs 4.0). Flipping Legend Halfbrick+'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs every 4 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. High Octane! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flipping Legend Halfbrick+ sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

High Octane! holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of High Octane!'s written reviews are positive against 50% of Flipping Legend Halfbrick+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

High Octane! ships an update every 4 months, Flipping Legend Halfbrick+ daily. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
