# CJLA vs Catholic Owned®

The clearest difference is update cadence: CJLA at every 3 weeks against Catholic Owned®'s every 5 months. CJLA also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 36). Catholic Owned®'s advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CJLA holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CJLA has 1.9K ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 89% of CJLA's written reviews are positive against 85% of Catholic Owned®'s.

CJLA ships an update every 3 weeks, Catholic Owned® every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
