# BCD E vs The Herald

The clearest difference is rating: BCD E at 5.0 against The Herald's 4.2. BCD E also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 18.6). The Herald's advantage is ratings volume (157 vs 3) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Herald sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. BCD E asks for nothing beyond the download.

BCD E holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Herald has 157 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BCD E ships an update every 4 months, The Herald monthly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
