# Fontastic vs Keybuild

The clearest difference is rating: Fontastic at 4.8 against Keybuild's 4.1. Keybuild's advantage is monetization model (free vs paid) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Fontastic costs $3.99 and Keybuild $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fontastic holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 48 and 49 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Fontastic's written reviews are positive against 73% of Keybuild's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fontastic ships an update every 5 weeks, Keybuild fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
