# IMAX vs RIDEVU

The clearest difference is rating: RIDEVU at 3.0 against IMAX's 2.2. RIDEVU also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 19) and ads (none vs shown). IMAX's advantage is ratings volume (34 vs 6). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IMAX sells 19 one-off in-app purchases. RIDEVU asks for nothing beyond the download.

RIDEVU holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IMAX has 34 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

IMAX ships an update monthly, RIDEVU every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
