# IMAX vs Posterama

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Posterama at 100% against IMAX's 35%. Posterama also leads on rating (3.7 vs 2.3) and ads (none vs shown). IMAX's advantage is ratings volume (32 vs 3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IMAX sells 19 one-off in-app purchases and Posterama sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Posterama holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IMAX has 32 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 35% of IMAX's written reviews are positive against 100% of Posterama's.

IMAX ships an update monthly, Posterama every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
