# Recorder for iPhone vs Voice Diary and Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Recorder for iPhone at 4.4 against Voice Diary and Notes's 3.5. Recorder for iPhone also leads on ratings volume (3K vs 4). Voice Diary and Notes's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and update cadence (daily vs monthly). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Recorder for iPhone sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Voice Diary and Notes asks for nothing beyond the download.

Recorder for iPhone holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Recorder for iPhone has 3K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Recorder for iPhone's written reviews are positive against 50% of Voice Diary and Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
