# Aviator Assistant vs OwnNav

The clearest difference is monetization model: OwnNav at freemium against Aviator Assistant's subscription. OwnNav also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). Aviator Assistant's advantage is ratings volume (75 vs 1) and chart position (#99 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aviator Assistant sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per month and OwnNav sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OwnNav holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aviator Assistant has 75 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Aviator Assistant ships an update every 4 weeks, OwnNav every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
