# Zolly vs HDReye

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Zolly at 88% against HDReye's 28%. Zolly also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). HDReye's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 2.3) and ratings volume (776 vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Zolly sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month and HDReye sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HDReye holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HDReye has 776 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Zolly's written reviews are positive against 28% of HDReye's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Zolly ships an update fortnightly, HDReye monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
