# FindStone vs MapGenie

The clearest difference is ads: FindStone at none against MapGenie's shown. FindStone also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 26 months). MapGenie's advantage is review sentiment (56% vs 40%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FindStone sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FindStone ships an update every 3 weeks, MapGenie every 26 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
