The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Scheels at none against StudFinder.app's 3. Scheels also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 4) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StudFinder.app sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Scheels asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Scheels against 5.0 for StudFinder.app. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scheels has 14K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.
