# DNS Security vs DNS Changer

The clearest difference is update cadence: DNS Security at every 2 days against DNS Changer's every 3 weeks. DNS Security also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6). DNS Changer's advantage is review sentiment (96% vs 67%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DNS Security sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and DNS Changer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DNS Security holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 72 and 178 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of DNS Security's written reviews are positive against 96% of DNS Changer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DNS Security ships an update every 2 days, DNS Changer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
