# WidgetPack vs Vinyl Widget

The clearest difference is rating: Vinyl Widget at 4.7 against WidgetPack's 3.7. Vinyl Widget also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 6). WidgetPack's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (75% vs 48%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WidgetPack sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Vinyl Widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Vinyl Widget holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vinyl Widget has 2.4K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of WidgetPack's written reviews are positive against 48% of Vinyl Widget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WidgetPack ships an update every 2 weeks, Vinyl Widget every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
