# Sadlier Reader vs PlusPortals

The clearest difference is rating: Sadlier Reader at 3.7 against PlusPortals's 1.4. Sadlier Reader also leads on iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.0). PlusPortals's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 25 months) and ratings volume (142 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sadlier Reader holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PlusPortals has 142 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Sadlier Reader's written reviews are positive against 9% of PlusPortals's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sadlier Reader ships an update every 25 months, PlusPortals monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
