# The Forbidden Arts vs Shockbot

The clearest difference is rating: The Forbidden Arts at 4.6 against Shockbot's 4.3. The Forbidden Arts also leads on ratings volume (163 vs 20). Shockbot's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks) and review sentiment (50% vs 40%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Forbidden Arts sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Shockbot sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Forbidden Arts holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Forbidden Arts has 163 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of The Forbidden Arts's written reviews are positive against 50% of Shockbot's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Forbidden Arts ships an update every 2 weeks, Shockbot every 6 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
