# Read Out Loud Reader vs Read Text Aloud

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Read Text Aloud at 100% against Read Out Loud Reader's 14%. Read Out Loud Reader's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (310 vs 6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Read Out Loud Reader sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Read Text Aloud sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Read Out Loud Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Read Out Loud Reader has 310 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of Read Out Loud Reader's written reviews are positive against 100% of Read Text Aloud's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
