# Canon+ vs Apeology

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Apeology at none against Canon+'s 10. Apeology also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). Canon+'s advantage is ratings volume (3.1K vs 5) and chart position (#198 vs unranked). On price, rating and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Canon+ sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Apeology asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Canon+ against 5.0 for Apeology. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Canon+ has 3.1K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 84% of Canon+'s written reviews are positive against 100% of Apeology's.

Canon+ ships an update every 3 months, Apeology weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
