# Strive vs 1 Better

The clearest difference is monetization model: 1 Better at freemium against Strive's subscription. 1 Better also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 71%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Strive's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (3.1K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Strive sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and 1 Better sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

1 Better holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Strive has 3.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 71% of Strive's written reviews are positive against 100% of 1 Better's.

Strive ships an update every 9 days, 1 Better every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
