# Salt vs Tentacle

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tentacle at every 2 weeks against Salt's every 2 months. Salt's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Salt ships an update every 2 months, Tentacle every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
