# TV Remote vs Connect TV Remote

The clearest difference is monetization model: TV Remote at freemium against Connect TV Remote's subscription. TV Remote also leads on ratings volume (629K vs 2.3K) and chart position (#5 vs #133). Connect TV Remote's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TV Remote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Connect TV Remote sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for TV Remote against 4.6 for Connect TV Remote. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TV Remote has 629K ratings behind it against 2.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 21% of TV Remote's written reviews are positive against 9% of Connect TV Remote's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
