# AGTV vs AskScripture

The clearest difference is monetization model: AskScripture at free with in-app purchases against AGTV's subscription. AskScripture also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 months). AGTV's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 9). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AGTV sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and AskScripture sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for AGTV against 5.0 for AskScripture. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AGTV has 1.1K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 99% of AGTV's written reviews are positive against 100% of AskScripture's.

AGTV ships an update every 4 months, AskScripture every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
