# Live OCR Search Using Camera vs PhotoSolve

The clearest difference is monetization model: Live OCR Search Using Camera at free with in-app purchases against PhotoSolve's subscription. PhotoSolve's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 24). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Live OCR Search Using Camera sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and PhotoSolve sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Live OCR Search Using Camera against 4.4 for PhotoSolve. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PhotoSolve has 1.4K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 63% of Live OCR Search Using Camera's written reviews are positive against 72% of PhotoSolve's.

Live OCR Search Using Camera ships an update every 10 months, PhotoSolve monthly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
