# Themer vs PicCo Widget Custom Homescreen

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PicCo Widget Custom Homescreen at none against Themer's 1. PicCo Widget Custom Homescreen also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 53). Themer's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 52%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Themer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. PicCo Widget Custom Homescreen asks for nothing beyond the download.

PicCo Widget Custom Homescreen holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PicCo Widget Custom Homescreen has 1.3K ratings behind it against 53, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Themer's written reviews are positive against 52% of PicCo Widget Custom Homescreen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Themer ships an update every 3 weeks, PicCo Widget Custom Homescreen every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
