# Themer vs Widget Custom HomeScreen

The clearest difference is monetization model: Themer at free with in-app purchases against Widget Custom HomeScreen's subscription. Themer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (60% vs 26%). Widget Custom HomeScreen's advantage is ratings volume (2.8K vs 52). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Themer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month and Widget Custom HomeScreen sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
