# PA28 Performance vs Hangar

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PA28 Performance at none against Hangar's 10. PA28 Performance also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (75% vs 64%). Hangar's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 18). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hangar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. PA28 Performance asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hangar holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hangar has 1.2K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of PA28 Performance's written reviews are positive against 64% of Hangar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PA28 Performance ships an update every 6 weeks, Hangar every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
