# Word Tracker vs WordElf

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WordElf at none against Word Tracker's 6. WordElf also leads on iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). Word Tracker's advantage is ratings volume (268 vs 9) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Tracker sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. WordElf asks for nothing beyond the download.

Word Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Tracker has 268 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Word Tracker's written reviews are positive against 86% of WordElf's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Word Tracker ships an update every 2 weeks, WordElf every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
