# Librivox vs Libri Audiobooks

Librivox and Libri Audiobooks both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Libri Audiobooks's written reviews are positive against 53% of Librivox's. Libri Audiobooks also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). Librivox's advantage is ratings volume (242 vs 8) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Librivox sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Libri Audiobooks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Librivox against 4.5 for Libri Audiobooks. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Librivox has 242 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 53% of Librivox's written reviews are positive against 100% of Libri Audiobooks's.
