# Sketchbook vs Sketch Pro

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Sketch Pro at 81% against Sketchbook's 21%. Sketch Pro also leads on rating (4.7 vs 3.9) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sketchbook sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Sketch Pro sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sketch Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sketch Pro has 12K ratings behind it against 1.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 21% of Sketchbook's written reviews are positive against 81% of Sketch Pro's.

Sketchbook ships an update fortnightly, Sketch Pro every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
