# Alaap vs BGMEA

The clearest difference is update cadence: BGMEA at weekly against Alaap's every 2 months. BGMEA also leads on rating (3.0 vs 2.8) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Alaap's advantage is ratings volume (431 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BGMEA holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alaap has 431 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Alaap ships an update every 2 months, BGMEA weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
