# HaloVPN Pro vs VPN Proxy

The clearest difference is monetization model: HaloVPN Pro at free with in-app purchases against VPN Proxy's subscription. HaloVPN Pro also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months). VPN Proxy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HaloVPN Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and VPN Proxy sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HaloVPN Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HaloVPN Pro has 19K ratings behind it against 691, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of HaloVPN Pro's written reviews are positive against 61% of VPN Proxy's.

HaloVPN Pro ships an update every 5 days, VPN Proxy every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
