# HaloVPN Pro vs Tom VPN

The clearest difference is ratings volume: HaloVPN Pro at 18K against Tom VPN's 1.4K. HaloVPN Pro also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HaloVPN Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Tom VPN sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for HaloVPN Pro against 4.5 for Tom VPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HaloVPN Pro has 18K ratings behind it against 1.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of HaloVPN Pro's written reviews are positive against 83% of Tom VPN's.

HaloVPN Pro ships an update every 5 days, Tom VPN every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
