# eSign vs PDF Editor

The clearest difference is monetization model: eSign at free with in-app purchases against PDF Editor's subscription. eSign also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). PDF Editor's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (921 vs 134). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. eSign sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and PDF Editor sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

eSign holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Editor has 921 ratings behind it against 134, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of eSign's written reviews are positive against 70% of PDF Editor's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
