# iLoom vs Random Filter

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Random Filter at 49% against iLoom's 6%. Random Filter also leads on rating (4.2 vs 1.6) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 14 months). iLoom's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iLoom sells 25 one-off in-app purchases and Random Filter sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.59 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Random Filter holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Random Filter has 4.5K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 6% of iLoom's written reviews are positive against 49% of Random Filter's.

iLoom ships an update every 14 months, Random Filter fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
