# Xiao vs SeekBird

The clearest difference is rating: Xiao at 2.1 against SeekBird's 1.5. Xiao also leads on ratings volume (137 vs 11) and iOS requirement (12 vs 14). SeekBird's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Xiao holds the better App Store score, 2.1 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Xiao has 137 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Xiao's written reviews are positive against 27% of SeekBird's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Xiao ships an update every 5 weeks, SeekBird every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
