# ScanCopy vs PDF Reader

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ScanCopy at 100% against PDF Reader's 50%. ScanCopy also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3). PDF Reader's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (93 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScanCopy sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 3 months and PDF Reader sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScanCopy holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Reader has 93 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of ScanCopy's written reviews are positive against 50% of PDF Reader's.

ScanCopy ships an update every 3 months, PDF Reader every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
