# Maclan Smart Link vs Pro Pairings

The clearest difference is update cadence: Pro Pairings at weekly against Maclan Smart Link's every 4 months. Pro Pairings also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 25%). Maclan Smart Link's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Maclan Smart Link holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 15 and 25 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Maclan Smart Link's written reviews are positive against 50% of Pro Pairings's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Maclan Smart Link ships an update every 4 months, Pro Pairings weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
