# NU Transit vs VAOVApp

The clearest difference is rating: NU Transit at 4.7 against VAOVApp's 4.0. NU Transit also leads on ratings volume (119 vs 4). VAOVApp's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NU Transit holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NU Transit has 119 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NU Transit ships an update every 4 months, VAOVApp every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
