# Goal Tracker vs Digital Planner for iPad

The clearest difference is monetization model: Goal Tracker at freemium against Digital Planner for iPad's subscription. Goal Tracker also leads on review sentiment (78% vs 44%) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). Digital Planner for iPad's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (2.1K vs 21). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Goal Tracker sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year and Digital Planner for iPad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Goal Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Digital Planner for iPad has 2.1K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of Goal Tracker's written reviews are positive against 44% of Digital Planner for iPad's.

Goal Tracker ships an update every 6 months, Digital Planner for iPad every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
