# GPSD vs GIC App

The clearest difference is update cadence: GIC App at every 3 weeks against GPSD's every 9 months. GIC App also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GPSD ships an update every 9 months, GIC App every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
